Description (Service)

Education, support, and advocacy for all members of the adoption and permanency community across Ontario

Support is available to adoptive parents, prospective adoptive parents, youth and adults with lived experience in adoption or foster care, kin caregivers, and professionals, key services include:


Centralized Adoption Intake Service

  • provincial access point of information for public adoption inquiries.
  • intake team provides information about adoption types, the process, application preparation, and referral to prep and home study supports (adoption.on.ca, oacas.org)

AdoptOntario

  • coordinated initiative to connect children in Extended Society Care (foster care) with prospective adoptive families

Pathways to Permanency

  • psychoeducational, trauma-informed parenting program tailored for adoptive, kinship, and customary care families

ACT (Adoption Competency Training)

  • specialized training for professionals supporting permanency and adoption families

Youth Network

  • peer-led programs and community-building for youth and young adults with adoption or foster care experience

Parent Support

  • one-on-one peer assistance and resource navigation through trained Parent Liaisons

Education & Outreach

  • webinars, learning modules, workshops, and digital materials for families and professionals

Community Advocacy

  • systemic efforts to promote inclusive, trauma-informed practices and policies across Ontario
