Description (Service)

The 2026 municipal election will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026 

During a municipal election, Town of Halton Hills citizens elect officials to the offices of Mayor, Town Councillors, Regional and Town Councillors, and various school board trustees for a four year term

Following the adoption of the Better Regional Governance Act, 2026, the Halton Regional Chair is now a Provincially appointed position and will not appear on the ballot

Information on Voting

VOTING:  
Voters may vote in the following ways:

  • online advance voting, using Internet voting, from Oct 9th, 9 am-Oct 24, 11:59 pm (need to pre-register - Visit Vote2026.haltonhills.ca between Tue Sep 1, 9 am and Sat Oct 24, 6 pm at 6:00 p.m. to register
  • in person on election day, Oct 26, 2026 anywhere in your ward (see here for voting locations by ward - scroll down to "Voting Locations")

Election day polls: 10 am-8 pm

Ages: 18 year(s) and up

Anyone who is a resident, owner or tenant of property in the Town of Halton Hills, a Canadian citizen and 18 years of age or older can vote

Vote in person on voting day or at advance voting locations
