Ethnocultural Multipurpose Centres
Multipurpose centres that serve as focal points for specific ethnocultural groups within the community and which offer, at a single location, a wide variety of services and activities that are structured to meet the social, educational, economic, recreational and other needs of participants in ways that are culturally appropriate.
Indigenous Friendship Centres
Multipurpose centres in urban settings that welcome members of First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities and offer a wide variety of culturally appropriate services and activities, including general support for those who are new to urban life. Services may include community events, educational programs, support groups, library resources, recreational programs, liaison with other community organizations and counselling on employment, housing, education and health.
LGBTQ2+ Community Centres
Multipurpose centres that serve as a meeting place for people who identify as part of the gender and sexually expansive community that includes people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or two-spirit to grow together, celebrate diversity and increase public understanding. The centres may offer community events, educational programs, counselling, support groups, library resources, recreational programs and other services that support LGBTQ2+ individuals and organizations.
Neighbourhood Multipurpose Centres
Multipurpose centres that offer, at a single location, a wide variety of services and activities that are structured to meet the unique and varied needs of the entire community through different programs for different age and interest groups.
Senior Centres
Multipurpose centres that serve as focal points for older adults in the community and which offer, at a single location, a wide variety of services and activities that are needed by and of interest to this population.
Women's Centres
Multipurpose centres that serve as a focal point for women in the community and which offer, at a single location, a wide variety of services and activities that are needed by and of interest to this population.
