Description (Service)

A service for people with disabilities who are unable to use conventional transit

  • residents must register to use the service and fulfill the eligibility requirements
  • passengers needs are met through accessible vehicles
  • service is supplemented with local taxi providers

  • Office Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm
  • Service Mon-Fri 6 am-12 midnight, Sat 7 am-12 midnight, Sun and statutory holidays 8 am-8 pm

Eligibility Any resident who has completed an application for the service and met the eligibility requirements (information provided in the application form will be used to determine eligibility)

  • application form is available online
  • applications must be certified by a medical practitioner and submitted for approval
  • once registered, passengers may book a ride via telephone with the care-A-van office, via automated phone, web, or app
  • registration can be on a temporary or permanent basis
  • Children, youth and seniors ride free with a valid PRESTO card
  • Tickets and Passes available through the care-A-van office
