Description (Service)

Oakville’s extensive Lake Ontario shoreline includes three harbours, owned and operated by the Town of Oakville, accommodating several hundred sail and power boats as well as recreational facilities

Rates & Fees

  • Harbours staff provide haul-out services, mast stepping and unstepping
  • Operating, maintenance and capital improvements are funded from fees charged to boaters
  • Harbours rates and fees are available on the Rates and Fees page

Fishing

Please look for ‘No Fishing’ signs, posted in areas where fishing is not permitted

Fishing is permitted

  • on Sixteen Mile Creek (provided it is not off a bridge or roadway) a minimum of 50 metres upstream of the last upstream dock in the Oakville Harbour.
  • on Bronte Creek north of the Rebecca Street bridge, at Petro Canada Park and other creek access points.
  • on both sides of the west pier at Bronte Harbour

Evening Fishing Pilot Program

  • permits evening fishing within designated areas of the east pier in Bronte Habour and east/west piers in Oakville Harbour
  • program runs Aug 1 to Oct 15, from 9 pm to 12 midnight

For safety, fishing is not permitted in Oakville or Bronte harbours between May 15 and Oct 15, when the harbours are busy with boat and pedestrian traffic
