Description (Service)

Services include:

Dog care support for older adults:

  • assistance with obtaining food and feeding
  • assistance with animal hygiene
  • minor grooming such as brushing
  • transportation to or from veterinarian or groomer
  • temporary care during pet owner hospitalization
  • help with exercising the dog

Long term care for dogs:

  • care and companionship for older dogs whose lives have been disrupted due to illness, relocation or death of their owner 
  • helps re-home older dogs
  • foster care, adoption and pre-planned long-term care in an approved home
  • offers bereavement support for anyone who has lost a companion animal
  • provides public education on the animal-human bond
