A community information centre and program of the Oakville Public Library providing information and referral to community organizations and programs that serve residents of Halton Region.

A founding member of the Halton Information Providers (HIP)

  • the purpose of HIP is to support the needs of the residents of Halton by maintaining consistent and credible standards of community and human service information

Also a founding member of the Community Information Online Consortium (CIOC)

  • a consortium of information providers who are using the software which the Halton Information Providers and the Halton libraries originally designed and developed

Main Services

  • free and confidential information and referral service connecting individuals and organizations to programs and services available to Oakville residents
  • shares community posters, flyers, brochures, and pamphlets from local agencies and nonprofits at all Oakville Public Library branches and online at www.oakvilleinfo.ca
  • provides community directories and resource lists to help residents find local support

Halton Information Providers

  • lead agency for Halton Information Providers (HIP)
  • in partnership with other Halton resource centres, maintains the Halton Community Services Directory with over 4,000 listings for non-profit and government services across Halton Region
