Assists residents in achieving optimum quality of life Activities include:

• help with therapeutic recreational activities (bingo, outings, shopping trips, birthday and other parties, picnics, baking)
• provide assistive dining/feeding
• provide escorts for residents attending outside appointments
• work one-on-one residents who are lonely (Friendly Visiting)
• bring screened pets for visits
• help with office administration
• care for resident pets
• assist with garden and plant care

Flexible

• some evening and weekend programs available during school year
• full summer student volunteer program - June to September

• involves an application, interview and orientation
• require security clearance with vulnerable screening, two references, flu immunization required during flu season (Nov- April) and 2 Step TB skin test
• successful candidates receive orientation training including health & safety, meal assistance, infection control, general policies and procedures
• minimum time requirement 40 hours for students
