A community-based, registered Canadian charity that provides bridge accommodation and supportive counselling to people in Milton who are experiencing a housing crisis. The purpose is to assist participants in overcoming the challenges that prevent them from securing and maintaining a stable, affordable home.

Description and Service Details

Description (Service)
  • All incoming clients are referred to the program through the Region of Halton's housing list only
  • Milton Transitional Housing does not provide emergency or short term shelter but is a bridge from short-term emergency shelter to long-term affordable/market housing at subsidized rental rates for people in housing crisis
  • Participants required to undertake counselling and/or training on budgeting, nutrition, employment, as necessary
  • Organizes 'The Coldest Night of the Year', annual Milton walk in support of Milton Transitional Housing
  • Walk will be held on February 27th, 2027 to raise money for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger
