Dementia Resources Consulting Services:
Trained professionals (First Link and Outreach Dementia Resource Consultants, Behavioural Supports counsellors) are available to respond to inquiries from family members or the general public * Outreach Dementia Resource Consultants are specially trained in dealing with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias but are not therapists
Support and advice can be provided:
- one-to-one dementia specific education sessions, which can be in the office, at home or over the telephone
- e-mail correspondence
- resource information
- referral to community services
Support groups
- support people who want to inform themselves with current information that will help improve quality of life with the disease
- offer a variety of support groups to help the person wherever they may be in the journey (support groups for the person with dementia * care partner support groups * bereavement support groups)
- services provided at multiple locations throughout Peel
