Description (Service) COVID-19 Resources for Congregate Living Settings

A residence in a home-like setting for individuals with schizophrenia and other psychiatric problems or anyone who needs supervision with their medication * 12 bed capacity, all male residents * room and board and personal needs allowance

The home provides:
  • 24-hour care by a Personal Support Worker (PSW) and supervision by a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • full service for the residents including three meals and three snacks a day * special dietary meals available
  • laundry once a week
  • linens are changed once a week or when necessary
  • free hygiene products
  • staff assists during medication time (weekly blister pack prepared by pharmacy and medications are kept in a locked cupboard)
  • foot care and barber services available
  • scheduled physical fitness
  • scheduled shopping and outing trips
  • arranged ride to appointments
  • residents also participate in the Support Program & special needs program through the Canadian Mental Health Association, STRIDE, Summit Housing and Dr. Dougan Foundation
  • accepts referrals from Summit Housing, Support Housing, Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), hospitals and clinics
  • free phone use and internet access on wi-fi, a laptop can be borrowed form the office for personal use
  • volunteer opportunities available for interested applicants * application can be made online
