Description and Service Details

Description (Service) Reduces isolation in older adults (65+) by providing friendly social contact and physical activity (depending on ability) * all volunteers are supervised by Care Managers and training is provided

Services include:

Friendly visiting
  • volunteers provide one-on-one support and friendship to frail or isolated seniors 65+ living alone in their own home, apartment or retirement home
  • visits may include in-home visits as well as accompaniment in the community for errands, shopping and outings (depending on the ability of the client) * once a week for 1-2 hours
Memory visiting
  • provides companionship and physical activity for people experiencing memory loss and the early stages of dementia
  • consists of about one hour weekly in-home visits or short outings (depending on the ability of the client)
  • visits are provided by specially trained volunteers
Hours Office: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm
