  • Provides information on frauds and scams and consumer protection
  • Centralizes complaints regarding identity theft, fraud and scams through phone, fax, internet or mail complaint
  • Educates the public about specific fraudulent telemarketing pitches and deceptive marketing practices
  • Shares information with law enforcement agencies regarding frauds
  • Prosecutes key individuals and companies involved in telemarketing fraud and misleading advertising
  • Jointly managed by the RCMP, the Competition Bureau and the OPP

Note: Law enforcement agencies are warning the public to be aware of the "Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Scam" which is currently on the rise in Canada. These telephone scams involve threatening taxpayers or using aggressive and forceful language to scare them into paying fictitious debts to the CRA. If someone receives such a call, they should hang up and report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. For more information on telephone scams involving the CRA, visit their website
