Description (Service)

Members are experienced gardeners who live in the Halton-Hamilton area who have diverse horticultural backgrounds, regularly upgrade their skills, and have a desire to share their passion for gardening 

Activities include:

  • local garden tours and shows
  • Royal Botanical Gardens festivals
  • special community garden projects
  • Canada Blooms
  • presenting on garden topics (e.g., at Horticultural Societies and libraries)

Eligibility
  • To join and become a Master Gardener in Training (MGiT), applicants must pass a short written eligibility test
  • MGiTs are required to either take specified courses or pass a certification exam, usually within three years, in order to become Master Gardeners
  • MGiTs are responsible for the costs of courses and the exam
