THIS INFORMATION IS FOR THE 2024 HOLIDAY SEASON -- INFORMATION WILL BE ADDED AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE 

This listing summarizes holiday season donation and sponsorship programs, community meals which provide an opportunity for all members of the public to enjoy a Christmas meal with others (all are free of charge), and volunteering opportunities. 

Volunteering

Volunteer Halton has volunteering opportunities for a wide range of local nonprofit organizations. 

Food and Gift Drives

  • The Salvation Army Acton Community Church Christmas Hampers
    Toy Hampers registration is open to families with children between the ages of 0-16 years. Christmas food assistance available to anyone upon request.
    Where: 114 Mill St E, Acton
    When: Register before Nov 27th

  • Links2Care Holiday Giving Program
    Links2Care provides lower income Halton Hills residents with gifts over the holidays.
    Where: Applications are available online or by contacting Links2Care at 69 Acton Blvd, Acton or 360 Guelph St, Georgetown. Proof of income is required.
    When: Deadline for application is Nov 10th

    Donations: Contact Links2Care to “adopt” a family and purchase new items from their wish list or see website to make a financial donation.
  • Miracle on Main Street, Halton Regional Police Service 
    Accepting toy donations, cash and gift cards at all our Halton Regional Police Service facilities. Donations can also be made online through www.MiracleOnMain.ca, or by visiting one of our scheduled events detailed below. Donations made to district stations can only be accepteed until Dec 9.
    Where and When:
    11 Division: 217 Guelph St, Georgetown 
    "Cram-a-Cruiser" dates/times and locations below. 
    Nov 23, Nov 30 and Dec 7, 11 am-3 pm at the following Canadian Tire locations:

    Many local groups and organizations are running donation drives for the Georgetown Bread Basket. Please see list on the website

    Financial contribution can be made by cheque to:

    Food donations can be dropped off during normal business hours at Giant Tiger, No Frills, Sobeys, and Bethel CRC

    Good food and good friends, meal at no charge
